The project

Project overview

Civcon were engaged by the Water Corporation to carry out essential drainage upgrade work at East Cannington Reserve to enhance flood protection in the area and relieve pressure on the local stormwater drainage system.

To increase stormwater storage capacity, the works included lowering the reserve to create a drainage basin that takes excess water during flood events.

In reference to the playing field area, which forms part of the functional compensating basin, Civcon has lowered the field by approximately 1 metre and installed a new drainage outlet structure that connects to the existing stormwater system, as well as installed two limestone sitting areas for spectators and visitors to the reserve to use.
