Project overview

Civcon were awarded this Design and Construct project for Public Transport Authority, which involved the upgrade of the existing Public Transport Centre car parking areas. The proposal for the works came about due to the construction of the new Public Transport Operations Control Centre (PTOCC), which will have a significant impact on the current car parking at the PTC, and will result in a loss of 119 bays. In order to minimise impact of car parking loss during the construction of the PTOCC, modification and upgrades of the existing PTC car parks are required.

Scope of works

Site investigations including geotechnical, topographical feature survey, utility investigation, and environmental and contamination assessments
Design and management of the Green Locomotive Carpark, East Perth Carpark and TransWA site
Demolition and earthworks
Construction of limestone retaining walls to allow extensions of car parking areas
Pavement construction for new layout
Re-alignment of existing kerbs and installation of new kerbing
Supply and installation of boom gates with remote access and power supply
Supply and installation of fencing and wheel stops
Line marking
Adjustments to streetlighting and CCTV coverage across all three sites
Reconfiguration of the coach parking at the TransWA site including earthworks, retaining walls, handrails, new pavement, kerbing and line marking
Construction of a new car entrance into the TransWA site from Cheriton Street
Road and intersection modification works
Realignment of the existing PSP in consultation with Main Roads WA
Construction of a new wombat crossing per Main Roads WA requirements for the PSP
