Project overview

Civcon was engaged by the City of Perth to deliver the Hay Street Two-Way Conversion project, involving the conversion of approximately 850m of Hay Street from one-way to two-way traffic between Victoria Avenue and Bennett Street in the Perth CBD.

The project formed a key component of the City’s strategy to improve traffic circulation, enhance accessibility and revitalise the eastern end of the CBD.

Scope of works

Scope of works

  • Preparation and implementation of Traffic Management, Pedestrian Management, WHS and Environmental Management Plans
  • Obtaining approvals from City of Perth, Main Roads WA, PTA, ATCO Gas, Water Corporation, Western Power and telecommunications providers
  • Full utility investigations including service locating, potholing and protection of critical underground assets
  • Demolition of exisiting kerbing, pavements, medians, footpaths and street furniture
  • Earthworks and excavation for drainage, electrical and communications infrastructure
  • Installation of new drainage pits, gully pits, ACO trench drains and stormwater pipework
