Stage 1 port access and safety upgrades at Geraldton Port for Mid West Ports Authority, delivered around live 24/7 port operations.
Civcon was awarded Stage 1 of the Ports West Road Improvements project by Mid West Ports Authority to improve port access, safety and traffic efficiency through the separation of light and heavy vehicles, upgrades to the road network and consolidation of utility services. Stage 1 involved upgrading the main entry road into the Port and rerouting the primary transport corridor to Reg Clarke Road, while maintaining uninterrupted access to critical port operations throughout construction.
The works included the construction of roads, services, drainage, retaining walls, fencing and footpaths throughout the Port. Civcon also constructed and maintained a temporary road to provide 24/7 access for heavy haul mining vehicles and equipment throughout construction. The temporary road was constructed over and around existing pavement and lease areas within the boat yard and was designed to accommodate oversized project cargo, including 85 m long wind turbine blades.
