  • Horizontal Directional Drilling: Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) provides a trenchless solution for the installation of pipelines, conduits and cables primarily for water, power, gas and communication services. Civcon is the Australian provider of leading speed bump technology, Actibumps. Developed by Swedish traffic system developer, Edeva, the Actibump utilise sensor technology to leave the road level for vehicles driving at, or under, the legal speed limit while speeding vehicles activate a hatch, integrated into the road, that lowers a few centimetres creating an inverted speedbump. This serves to increase road safety and accessibility while lowering vehicle emissions and noise. Key features of the Actibump include:

  • Only speeding vehicles are affected;

  • Creates an even traffic flow with less emissions;

  • Encourages drivers to stay within the speed limit; and

  • Allows full access for buses and emergency vehicles.
